The “Programmed Soldier” In Drew Comes Out, Leads To Cyrus Downfall

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint fans need to brace themselves for a chaotic November Sweeps. Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was finally released from prison, and even though his time was short, he suffered quite the physical and emotional trauma while he was there.

Drew is determined to not only live life to the fullest but also fiercely protect the ones he loves. As his old prison mate Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is also out of Pentonville, and seemingly obsessed with Drew’s love Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) this could all equal out to a recipe for disaster.

General Hospital Spoilers  – Cameron Mathison Chimes In On Drew Cain’s Release

GH spoilers indicate that Drew and Cyrus could come to a head. Especially if Renault continues to try and reach out to Carly, or possibly “run” into his daughter Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante).

During a recent Soap Opera Digest (SOD) interview the character’s portrayer, actor Cameron Mathison talked about Drew’s prison stint, noting everything that Cain went through “tweaked” something in him.

Mathison went on to note that Drew is coming out of prison with a “protect” yourself and loved ones “at any cost”, type of attitude.

GH Spoilers – His Programmed Soldier Persona Resurfaces

For fans who recall, Drew was once a programmed soldier who could be easily activated by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

While he has been deprogrammed, that conditioning isn’t always completely erased. Plus, this is the land of soaps, where anything and everything is possible.

Cain dealt with a ton of scary circumstances in prison, and when he was attacked, he likely felt helpless. Drew probably never wants to feel that again, and he’ll likely have his guard up in Port Charles.

Still, if Cyrus tries to mess with either Carly or Scout, possibly even Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Drew could be triggered and unleash a fury on Cyrus that could cause the criminal extreme harm.

While some fans would love to see this, Drew still needs to be on his best behavior. After all, he’s not fully out of the woods yet, as he does have a six-month probation to get through, first.
