Double Man Utd injury blow as Marcus Rashford is clattered by own team-mate and Onana is helped off pitch for Cameroon

MANCHESTER UNITED have suffered a double injury blow.

That’s after key men Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana limped off during the international break.

Star Red Devils forward Rashford lined up on the left side of England’s attack for their 2-0 Euro qualifier win against Malta at Wembley.

The fan favourite struggled to impress after getting little support from centre-half Fikayo Tomori, who was bizarrely deployed at left-back by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.

And Rashford’s game lasted just under an hour following a brutal collision with teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

As the United ace made a play for the ball, he was accidentally wiped out in a full-blooded charge by his Liverpool counterpart.

Rashford was unable to continue as he writhed around on the floor in agony.

And he ended up being replaced by Cole Palmer, allowing the new Chelsea star to make his senior international debut.

But Rashford wasn’t the only United star to suffer an injury on Friday evening.

Goalkeeper Onana was unable to see out Cameroon’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Mauritius.

The stopper looked to be in discomfort with just ten minutes remaining.

And after being checked by medics, he limped off the pitch with an uncomfortable look on his face.

It means United boss Erik ten Hag faces a fresh injury crisis ahead of the club’s next game against Everton.

The Dutchman was already without TEN stars before tonight’s international fixtures.

And should he lose Rashford and Onana too, it would mean that United have an incredible 12 players sidelined – the second-most in the entire Premier League.

The likes of Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez are currently out with long-term problems.

And fans reacted in disbelief on social media as they faced up to the possibility of more injuries to key players.

One said: “Our luck this season is horrible.”

Another declared: “Rashford and Onana injured in one night, we are finished.”

One noted: “So basically Rashford and Onana are injured, that’s nearly our whole team injured. What’s the point in this season going on? Might as well end it.”

Another added: “Rashford and Onana in one night. This is sickening!”
