22-year-old Nigerian Lady who lost her father at young age becomes successful, graduates as a Civil Engineer with first-class grade

A brilliant Nigerian Lady named Josephine Adah has overcome challenges caused by the loss of her father at a very young age to ultimately graduate as a Civil Engineer with first-class grade.

Josephine Adah, 22, lost her father at a tender age and despite facing serious financial issues in school as a result, she cruised to success and attained a first-class from the University of Nigeria, Enugu, Nigeria.

Narrating her school experience, Josephine noted that her love for Mathematics as a child propelled her to study engineering, despite being considered a male-dominated discipline.

“I faced financial challenges where I could not afford some of my learning resources at school. However, I am grateful to senior colleagues and classmates that assisted me with books,” she narrated.

Josephine also noted that she won several scholarship awards while she was a student of the institution. “I started some petty business and got awarded the National Merit Scholarship from NNPC/Total which assisted in easing the financial burden,” she explained.

The NNPC/Total Merit Scholarship Award is a yearly scholarship program awarded to Nigerian undergraduates. The 2023 version of the NNPC/NAOC/OANDO JV Scholarship is currently ongoing and is set to expire by June 9, 2023. To learn more and apply, click HER
