Ackles, who played Dean Winchester on Eric Kripke’s Supernatural, now stars as the showrunner’s new franchise favourite, Soldier Boy – a character that he didn’t originally intend to give to Ackles, but was happy when he said he was available for it.

Kripke’s The Boys on Prime Video will be entering its fourth main season next year, with it already having two spinoffs The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Gen V – as well as a third currently in the works.

The show has quickly become one of the most popular live-action franchises to date and has been said by fans of the genre to be more loved than franchises such as Marvel or DC’s cinematic universes.

However, despite The Boys already featuring various stars from Supernatural, one actor has yet to even be mentioned to be joining Ackles and the gang – Sam Winchester’s Jared Padalecki.

Jensen Ackles Wants Jared Padalecki To Play WHO In The Boys?

Earlier this year at a convention, Ackles was asked if on the chance that his Supernatural co-star Padalecki was to join The Boys, would he want his Soldier Boy to team up with him… or would he want them to face off against each other.

“Would you [Ackles] like him [Padalecki] with you or against you [in The Boys?]“

Ackles responded: “Jared as just Jared or as a character?”

He continued: “Are we talking like Sam Winchester, are we talking like Walker? or are we talking Jared?”

Then when reminded that Padalecki would like to play a superhero, Ackles somewhat ended the joked and provided the fan with his thoughts on where he thinks Padalecki would fit in the show.

“I see, yeah, I think – I think Jared would probably be better in the Superhero world,” Ackles said.

He continued: “Just because he’s a giant… man baby.”

Ackles then went on: “I mean, put a superhero suit on him and then you have a giant man-baby in a superhero suit, who wouldn’t want to watch that?”

Jared Padalecki Should Be In The Seven, Says Jensen Ackles

During the same convention, Ackles even said that he believes Padalecki should become a member of the Homelander-led team known as ‘The Seven’.

He also jokingly continued to say that “The Seven” could just squeeze him in and just call it “The Eight”, which when watching all seasons of the show… doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
