As part of a commitment made for the World Cup, the Uruguay national team agreed to bike the long distance.
Uruguay was in seventh place in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying competition with four rounds remaining, three spaces outside of automatic qualification.
Thus, the team pledged to ride their bikes to their training camp upon arrival in Qatar, and they have already fulfilled their commitment.
Among the group of bikers were former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani and Arsenal star Lucas Torreira.
The team was warmly attired in oversized coats and tracksuit bottoms, with Benfica star Nunez donning a white cap as well.As he took his hands off the handlebars to pose for a picture, he seemed to be having fun too.
Due to interest from United and Liverpool, the striker may be heading for a summer transfer to the Premier League.
Benfica is reportedly demanding £85 million, and the Reds are willing to smash their transfer record in order to acquire Nunez.
Liverpool intends to make an offer shortly and is in the process of negotiating a fee reduction to approximately £60 million. This summer, Cavani and Torreira are also expected to join new teams; the former has been linked to a transfer to Salernitana.
Last season, Fiorentina had Torreira on loan from Arsenal; however, they were unable to purchase him permanently, which allowed Lazio to get the midfield player.
