Ahead of SHINee Taemin’s much-awaited return with “Guilty,” Shawols expressed anger as ARMYs continuously terrorizes the idol after the recent “plagiarism” issue involving BTS V’s “Layover.”
SHINee Taemin Accused of Copying BTS V Album’s Concept, Design, Song
The “Ace of K-pop” is back. On October 30, SHINee Taemin will finally unveil his much-anticipated comeback album, “Guilty”!
While SHINee World (fandom) was excited to see the male idol’s first release after his military discharge, the supposedly happy moment was tainted with an infuriating event after ARMYs “attacked” the star, accusing him of plagiarizing BTS V’s solo album, “Layover.”

In a now-suspended account, the OP stated that Taemin’s concept was stolen from BTS V, comparing the teaser photos released by the two idols.
They even claimed that the design of the former’s shoebox album allegedly came from the latter’s idea of using a mailbox for his album.

As both albums also comprised a song titled “Blue,” ARMYs (BTS fans) agreed that Taemin is not even trying to hide that he “plagiarized” the global superstar.
When this spread online, K-netizens, Shawols and even Korean ARMYs showed confusion as they didn’t think that Taemin copied V.
Although there might be overlapping concepts, K-pop fans pointed out that V’s concept isn’t that “one of a kind” and that it was used by other idols in the past.

Despite this explanation, ARMYs didn’t stop there and insisted that Taemin should apologize for “stealing” V’s treasured solo album.
As even Korean netizens and K-ARMYs, who usually has a lot to say when it comes to such issue don’t think it’s “plagiarism,” Shawols were somehow relieved and decided to focus on promoting the album.
Unfortunately, BTS fandom didn’t stop there and took their complaints to an absurd level — from terrorizing Taemin’s Instagram, dragging the late SHINee Jonghyun, telling him to k*ll himself and trying to boycott his appearance in BTS Suga’s “Suchwita.”
Seeing this, the 16-year Shawols, who had been one of the most peaceful fandoms in K-pop exploded and decided to fight back against these ARMYs.
Amid the “fanwar,” some Shawols also warned ARMYs after stating that they would take the case legally, by inviting other fandoms to take screenshots containing malicious comments about Taemin.
Once compiled, they plan to send it to KWANGYA 119, an SM Entertainment’s website dedicated to fans, wherein they can use the platform to report issues related to its artists.
Shawols then expressed their pained hearts how can people even mention the late Jonghyun or other people’s death like it’s nothing and even desire for the artist to take his life just because of an accusation that wasn’t even proven as true.
Fortunately, other ARMYs are also calling out their co-fandom attitudes and helping Shawols to call out both HYBE and SM Entertainment artists to take legal actions against the extreme hate Taemin is getting and how V was also receiving backlash for his fandom’s personality.
