The night after Selena Gomez hard-launched her six-month relationship with music producer Benny Blanco, she briefly logged off Instagram for a night out with close friend Taylor Swift.
On December 8, Gomez and Swift were photographed in New York City, both opting for cute miniskirts despite the cold winter weather. In photos shared online by fans, as well as Gomez’s stylist Erin Walsh, Gomez can be seen wearing designer Rejina Pyo’s snake-print trench coat ($1,376) and matching miniskirt ($345), which she paired with a black sweater, Calzedonia tights, and Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. Gomez left her honey-blonde highlighted hair down in tousled waves while rocking a classic smokey eye and a short red manicure.
While Gomez’s look was very Reputation-coded, Swift opted for one of her favored pleated plaid miniskirts and and a green sweater, which she layered under a shearling-lined suede jacket. Swift topped off her look with a pair of burgundy knee-highs and a camel-colored leather tote. You can see photos of both looks here.
As it turns out, Selena Gomez has been secretly dating producer Benny Blanco the entire time Swift has been seeing NFL tight end Travis Kelce. On December 7, Gomez confirmed her relationship with Blanco in the comments section of the @popfactions Instagram account, telling concerned fans that the producer is “the best thing that’s ever happened” to her and that he’s “better than anyone I’ve been with.”

Meanwhile, Swift recently revealed to Time Magazine that she started dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce shortly after he spoke about attending the Eras Tour on his New Heights podcast in late July. “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she told Time. “By the time I went to that first game [in September], we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”
