WWE US Champion, Logan Paul was invited to a quick interview for the YouTube Channel Jazzys World TV, a channel with over 660k subscribers on December 10th. 13-year-old YouTuber Jazzy met up with YouTube star Logan Paul at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn during the filming of a recent episode of SmackDown.
In the interview, The Maverick spoke about his WWE career, his run as WWE US Champion, his partnership with KSI over Prime Drinks, and his brother Jake Paul among several other things. During the end of the interview, he was asked a question, the response of which indicates that Paul is still sour on Dwayne Johnson.
The YouTuber-turned-wrestler was asked to list his top five WWE superstars of all time. Paul considered the question to be a tough one but answered it eventually. However, he made a snarky remark about The Great One with his answer while naming John Cena, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, himself [Logan Paul], and Dominik Mysterio in the list.
He said, “Always a tough question. I have to go with John Cena. John Cena for me, is the GOAT for sure. Uh, probably The Rock. Actually naah, never mind. Stone Cold Steve Austin. Hulk Hogan, real legend. You know, seriously started all of it. Uh, me of course, and the best for the last got to be Dominik Mysterio.”
The inclusion of John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and Steve Austin may seem natural, but the cheeky way he excluded The Rock from the list was insulting to The People’s Champ. The Rock is considered by many as the greatest WWE superstar of all time despite spending only seven active years in the wrestling business. Along with Steve Austin, he ruled the wrestling world during the Attitude Era.
However, Logan Paul’s remark is not surprising for fans who know the history between Logan Paul and Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson ended his friendship with Logan Paul over controversial video
Logan Paul and Dwayne Johnson worked on funny vines for Logan Paul’s channel back in 2017 when Paul was an upcoming YouTuber. The two shared a great camaraderie on-screen that eventually turned into a close friendship off-screen. However, it went downhill after Logan Paul visited Aokigahara Forest in Japan, nicknamed the Suicide Forest, which he filmed for a vlog. Following severe backlash, Paul took down the video and apologized for a “lapse in judgment”.
Recalling the unfortunate moment, Paul has stated multiple times that he and The Rock are no longer on talking terms due to the incident. Dwayne Johnson even asked Logan Paul to remove all of the vines featuring him. Hence, Paul’s response strongly suggests that he might still be sour with The People’s Champ’s response to the incident.
What do you think about Logan Paul’s list? Do you think the conflict between the two remains or could it be something completely different?
