It appears the atmosphere inside the club has become quite strange and is showing ominous signs. Barcelona board, for one, neither believe that the team is under construction under Xavi nor were they better than Girona.

In fact, it won’t come as a surprise if the relationship between the two parties breaks down at any given point.

Alarm bells for Xavi?

All of this should raise alarm bells for Xavi Hernandez, as far as his place at the Barcelona helm is concerned.

The Spaniard has been under pressure in the past, but after two years of rebuilding, coupled with a series of investments, the board has raised their expectations this time around.

But with Barcelona still struggling to perform in La Liga, it is time for Xavi to pull up his socks and guide the team back to winning ways.

A victory over Royal Antwerp later this evening could be a must, while Barcelona must also secure wins in the remaining matches of this calendar year.
