Unlike many of their A-list peers, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have chosen to eschew the glitz of Los Angeles for the comfort of home. Despite their status as red carpet veterans, the couple’s true preference is spending quality time together with their four young children. According to a source cited in Us Weekly, “Blake and Ryan are avid homebodies,” and their choice seems justified given the sheer magnificence of their multiple properties. Blake’s passion for interior design and her affinity for Martha Stewart are evident in the beautiful art and decor that adorn their living spaces. She once humorously stated on Instagram, “I design my friends’ homes. For free… Of all the bad decisions I’ve made, this may be the most fun.”
Over the years, the Gossip Girl alum has given us glimpses of their growing art collection, including pieces by artist and painter Megan Coonelly and a custom painting of Ryan Reynolds’s childhood home. Reynolds himself affectionately remarked about the latter, “This piece of art is the greatest present my wife has ever given me. If there’s ever a fire, I’m grabbing this first. I’ll come back for Blake.” While they are known for their privacy, the couple has occasionally let their fans peek into their stunning homes. Let’s take a look at a few of these rare glimpses into their world.
2010Before Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds became an item, Reynolds owned a property in Los Feliz, which he had purchased with his then-wife, Scarlett Johansson. They paid $2.9 million for the restored midcentury-modern Wong House, built in 1969 by California architects Conrad Buff and Donald Hensman. The single-story post-and-beam residence featured three bedrooms, including a primary suite with dual sinks and an outdoor bathtub, spread across 2,835 square feet. The house boasted entire walls of glass and sliding glass doors opening from the kitchen onto a wooden-deck patio, along with a large pool and lawn. Following their separation, the couple listed the home for $3.65 million in 2012 and sold it for $3.5 million shortly after.
2012Around six months after Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds started dating, they acquired a $2.3 million home in Bedford, New York, approximately an hour north of the city. Their neighbors included other Hollywood A-listers such as Bruce Willis, Ralph Lauren, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The 4,753-square-foot residence had three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, along with a two-bedroom guest suite elsewhere on the two-acre property. A source at the time revealed, “They picked a very traditional kind of house for people who work in Hollywood… They wanted a house with character, not a trendy, modern house. Their place is very homey.” The couple sold this property for a reported $2.4 million in May 2013 after purchasing a larger home in the area.
2012The couple’s next purchase was a $5.7 million mansion in Pound Ridge, just a few miles away from their original upstate home. This extensive estate encompassed 11.65 acres and featured an outdoor barn, while the main Colonial-style house spanned 8,892 square feet and included seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. There was also a separate guest house. The glimpses shared by the couple hint at dark hardwood floors, slate-colored walls, and a chic, rustic exterior. This residence remains their primary home.
2017A few years later, they acquired a Tribeca loft in a building occupied by celebrities like Meg Ryan, Justin Timberlake, and Jennifer Lawrence. The building, originally constructed in 1883 as a warehouse for a book bindery company, underwent a complete renovation in 2014, transforming into a seven-story structure with 53 condo units, including 45 lofts and eight penthouses. Although specifics about their unit are scarce, they offer plenty of space, ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet, and a 4,000-square-foot courtyard in the center of the building, perfect for maintaining their privacy. Many of the windows feature arches to maximize natural light, and images from the building’s website reveal wood-beamed ceilings and open floor plans. The couple continues to own this property.
