While things are not going well for Chelsea right now, it has been a good season for Conor Gallagher.
Conor Gallagher has started all but one Premier League game and has even captained the side on numerous occasions.
However, the midfielder has told Chelsea’s official website that it is frustrating that he is yet to score a goal in the current campaign.
Goals have been a problem for Mauricio Pochettino‘s team at times, but they were at least able to break down a sturdy Sheffield United defence over the weekend and net twice.
While Gallagher did not get his name on the scoresheet, Paul Merson thought he was the best player on the pitch.
Conor Gallagher frustrated with his lack of goals
Gallagher is disappointed with his failure to score a goal this season so far.
The 23-year-old said: “Of course, I want to score goals and that’s something I want to add to my game this season.
“It’s frustrating that I haven’t scored yet this season but as long as I’m helping the team to victories, then that’s all that matters. I’m sure the goals will come soon!”
Conor Gallagher has the ability to score goals
Gallagher is yet to find the back of the net in the current campaign and was hardly prolific last term either after registering just three Premier League goals.
However, back in the 2021/22 season, the England international scored eight times while on loan at Crystal Palace. That is pretty good for a midfielder who was not playing in an elite team.
It shows that Gallagher is capable of finding the back of the net and when you look at some of the shots he has taken this season, he is definitely a footballer who strikes the ball well and can generate a lot of power. That first goal should be coming soon.
