Max Verstappen has driven several supercars over the years.

Max Verstappen and Mercedes AMG GT

Max Verstappen has been competing at the pinnacle of motor racing since 2016 and has over the years, driven several F1 cars at high speeds. However, it has recently come to light that a rental company did not allow Verstappen to drive a Mercedes AMG GT when he was on holiday this year.

Max Verstappen drove Red Bull’s RB19 at a top speed of 213mph this year but when he was planning to go on a holiday with his friends, he was not allowed to drive the Mercedes AMG GT which has a top speed of 195 mph. The reason behind his not getting clearance to drive the car was that he’s under 30 years of age.

Max and the group went to Portugal for a fun racing trip and had booked the cars they wanted. When they got to the airport, Max was shocked when he was told he wasn’t allowed to drive the Mercedes he wanted. He’s a seasoned F1 driver who’s used to handling powerful cars, so it’s quite astonishing to think he wasn’t allowed to get behind the wheel of this one — but those are the rules, so he abided by them. – The Sun reported about Max Verstappen’s attempt at driving the Mercedes AMG GT.

Looking at the revealed information, it is quite clear that Max Verstappen was a bit surprised about not being allowed to drive the Mercedes he wanted on holiday. However, after knowing the reason, he totally abided by them and drove a different car during his holiday adventure.

Max Verstappen broke the speed limit in Monaco driving his Aston Martin Valkyrie

While Max Verstappen was not allowed to drive the Mercedes AMG GT on holiday, he has a huge car collection at his home in Monaco. During the 2023 F1 season, Verstappen was spotted during his $2.3 million Aston Martin Valkyrie on the streets of Monaco way over the prescribed speed limit.

As per the video that went viral, he was seen driving his supercar at a speed of around 73mph on a road where the speed limit was just 55mph. For this, he came under immense criticism from the motorsport world and the fans really did not hold anything back in ripping into him.

Max Verstappen has always been fascinated by speed and wants to go as fast as possible, especially around F1 tracks. While he came under some criticism for his Monaco antics, he managed a pretty much flawless 2023 F1 season which saw him winning his third consecutive F1 world championship in Qatar.
