Mahomes is under pressure due to a bad run of form
The legendary NFL player, Tom Brady, has given a big vote of confidence to the struggling Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes as his and his team’s poor run of form continues in the 2023/24 season.
The Missouri-based side are currently on a run of four losses from six games since their Week 10 bye as they struggle to find plays to hand to their receivers such as Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice.
Despite managing to retain the lead of the AFC West, they’re now unable to win the Conference and that’s led to a lot of questions about whether they will be able to compete and defend their Super Bowl title.
Brady, who won the championship six times with the New England Patriots and once with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is widely regarded as the best quarterback ever, gave his thumbs up to Mahomes by showering him with praise.
“You could see the fire and Patrick Mahomes yesterday,” Brady said to the media. “I love the way Patrick approaches it.
“Believe me with the confidence that he is a player. I don’t think that he thinks anyone can really stop him. I still believe in what the Chiefs are doing in that. And I’m never going to bet against a guy like Patrick because I think he’s such a phenomenal player and leader.”
Mahomes senses urgency
Their 9-6 run of form has included losses to teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos and it has left them with a 9-6 record for the season.
Their most recent loss, to the lowly Las Vegas Raiders, has left them confused and worried about how they turn their form around as they head into the postseason with an offense struggling for production and Mahomes understands the time pressure.
“All you can do is move onto the next game and next day,” Mahomes said to Charles Goldman. “I still believe we can go do what we want to do.
“If we don’t (clean it up), we’ll be going home (in the playoffs).”
