Selena Gomez has stated that she and best friend Taylor Swift may collaborate on music in the future.
The 28-year-old singer stated on the Twitch stream Animal Talking Wednesday that a collaboration between them could and has been discussed.
‘I’ve always wanted to do a song with Taylor,’ the 30-year-old Come And Get It singer said. ‘We both wanted to do that… we’ve definitely talked about it.’
The Texas native stated that ‘everything remains in our friendship,’ referring to how she and Swift have long navigated a friendship amidst their public careers and lives.
‘It just feels like we’re family,’ Gomez said. ‘She was my best friend.’
omez endorsed Swift’s new album folklore a few weeks ago, writing on Instagram Stories, ‘She’s done it again @taylorswift.’
The pop stars discussed their friendship earlier this year in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, with Gomez saying the pair “went through s*** at the same time.”
‘At a young age, she taught me a lot about how I should be treated,’ she said. ‘She has come through for me in ways I never expected. ‘I was flown in because I was hurt and going through a difficult time.’Things that were going on in my family. She has proven to be one of my best friends in the world year after year and in every moment of my life. We don’t always agree, but we respect each other in every way.’
Swift told the WSJ that her bond with Gomez was quick and strong.
‘I knew from the moment I met her that I would always have her back,’ the Shake It Off singer said. ‘I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me in my life. But I’m not sure I can forgive someone who has hurt her.’
