These amazing photographs were taken by German photographer Franz Grasser, who is better known for his photos from the Eastern Front.
Before the World War II, he traveled around the world and visited many countries like Italy, Greece, Lebanon or India. In 1938 he visited the United States and took amazing photos of New York City.
Sadly, when he returned to Germany he was drafted into the war and died near Novorossiysk in 1944 as a prisoner of war. Check out his rare and amazing photographs of 1938 New York.
