Manchester City fans are excitedly waiting for Erling Haaland to return from injury as Pep Guardiola’s side aim to launch their annual Premier League charge.
The last time we saw the Norwegian player in a blue shirt was at the start of the month against Aston Villa. He missed the win over Luton Town due to an injury and hasn’t played for his club since, even though he went to Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup, which City won.
The Norwegian has sat out wins over Crvena zvezda, Urawa Reds, Fluminense and Everton, as well as the draw with Crystal Palace. City face Sheffield United as the two sides meet in the Premier League at the Etihad on Saturday. We’ve got the latest news on Haaland’s injury.
Has Haaland started training again?
Haaland went to the FIFA Club World Cup with his teammates but didn’t play. However, the 23-year-old and Jeremy Doku, who is also injured, did some individual training in Saudi Arabia.
What has Guardiola said?
Guardiola hasn’t said much about Haaland’s fitness, choosing to focus on the Club World Cup instead. Before the tournament, he said there was a 50/50 chance Haaland would play in the Middle East, but it turned out to be too soon for him.
