Billie Eilish may now be known as a Grammy-winning musical trailblazer, but at one point she was just a normal teen with Justin Bieber posters adorning her walls.
It’s no secret that Eilish was, and still is, a Justin Bieber super-fan, but her mom, Maggie Baird, let fans in on just how bad Eilish’s obsession with Bieber was on the latest addition of Eilish’s Apple Podcast show Me & Dad Radio.
When discussing Eilish’s love for Bieber, Baird told her daughter: “I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber.”
Eilish shared that she would watch the video for ‘As Long As You Love Me’ on repeat: “I would watch the music video for this song and just sob.”
Eilish would also send Bieber unsolicited direct messages on Twitter and Instagram, sharing with him how much he meant to her.
In an interview with ET in March 2019, Eilish revealed Bieber direct messaged her in early 2019 after finding out how much of a super fan she had once been.
INSTAGRAMShe had been sending Bieber DMs since she was 12 years old: “The first thing he sent was a screenshot of a DM I sent him in 2014,” Eilish shared.
She went on to explain: “You know how when you follow somebody, you can see everything they DM’d you in the past? It, like, it felt good and it felt bad at the same time.”
