Phil Foden has revealed a personal ambition which he is keen to fulfil during his career at Manchester City.
The City Football Academy graduate, who has won 16 major trophies since making his first-team debut for Manchester City in 2017, is one of three former academy’s stars to be part of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad for the campaign.
Foden, Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb have all risen to prominence for Manchester City, with the trio all featuring during Saturday’s Premier League win over Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola handed Foden his Manchester City debut against Feyenoord in November 2017, with the Englishman having gone on to make over 250 appearances and scoring 69 goals for the club.
The 23-year-old boasts an incredible trophy haul, having won five Premier League titles, alongside the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Super Cup and Community Shield.
Despite the plethora of accolades, Foden has revealed a fresh personal ambition, having successfully risen through the ranks from the City Football Academy.
“I think a dream of mine is to try and play with as many Academy players as possible in the first team,” revealed the 23-year-old.
“It’s so nice to see Rico [Lewis] and Oscar [Bobb] doing so well – it’s just so good to see. Rico is unbelievable for his age and so is Oscar.
“To see them doing what they’re doing now, yeah, it’s so good. They’re going to be important for us. Like I said, when injuries happen, they’re always there and ready to step up.”
As well as impressive displays from both Lewis and Bobb, Micah Hamilton recently burst into contention for the first-team after an incredible debut performance in the Champions League, scoring emphatically and winning a penalty against Red Star Belgrade.
