“Disrespectful”: The Panthers owner throwing drinks at fans depresses Travis and Jason Kelce

Sometimes fans get too passionate about their teams and are bound to lose their calm. And often brawls, name-calling, and throwing food at each other ensues. That is exactly what happened with David Tepper, the owner of the Carolina Panthers, as he watched his team lose out to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a blowout 26-0 loss.

With just one game remaining for the Panthers, they are bound to end the season 2-15. Going into next year, their only consolation will be that they will get an early pick. So, what did David Tepper do at the Panthers vs Jaguars game?

Jason Kelce would rather get punched than spat on

On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce pulled up a video that showed David Tepper throwing a drink onto a Jaguars fan from his VIP box. Reacting to the video, Jason said “That is so disrespectful.” He went on to say that he would rather be punched in the face than spat on or have a drink thrown at him because that was so much more disrespectful. Travis agreed with his statement and said that they couldn’t explain why they felt that way.

Jason also said that the NFL revealed that it was aware of the video but won’t be taking any action as of now. Should the NFL take action against rebellious fans who put the experience of other fans in danger just because they got carried away by emotions? And this is not the first time that such an incident has happened.

Times when NFL fans went too far

The younger Mahomes brother was filming content with his brother’s fiancée, Brittany Matthews, on the sidelines of a Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos game in January 2022, when, according to a video taken on the scene by TikTok user phendo13 (via @BBQDom on Twitter), a Broncos supporter screamed a slur at Jackson Mahomes. Mahomes said to the onlooker, “That’s rude,” and the fan yelled the epithet once more.

In a different instance, it seemed that an argument broke out between a man sporting an Aaron Donald Rams jersey and some other supporters who were sitting in the rows ahead of him. Following a heated exchange of words, a woman from a different row intervened and quickly intensified the tension by hurling a drink close to the heated exchange of words. More drinks began to be thrown at the crowd from higher up in the stands, and soon after, three fans began beating up the original Rams fan while other onlookers attempted to break it up. This led to fights between other groups of fans as well.
