Serena Williams says her biggest worry is ‘not being there’ for her daughter Alexis Olympia, whom she calls the ‘greatest love of her life’

She’s one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with 23 grand slam titles and four Olympic gold medals under her belt.

But despite her huge passion for tennis, Serena Williams has revealed that the ‘greatest love of her life’ is none other than her three-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

The athlete, 39, also told how her biggest fear is ‘not being there for the toddler, who she shares with husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

Candid: Despite her huge passion for tennis, Serena Williams has revealed that the ‘greatest love of her life’ is none other than her three-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr

In a Q&A with The Guardian, Serena opened up about many aspects of her life, but it was clear to see her family is her biggest passion.

When asked what her greatest fear in life was, she responded: ‘Not being there, and around enough, for my daughter.’

And declaring her love for her baby girl, Serena also shared that little Alexis was also her ‘greatest love of her life.’

The tennis ace also made reference to her 2017 New Orleans wedding to husband Alexis, 37, when asked what had been the best kiss of her life.

Recalling their lavish nuptials, she said: ‘My wedding day with Alexis.’

Sticking with the theme of her family, Serena named her parents as the people who she most admired, explaining: ‘My mom and dad. They always encouraged me to keep spiritual things first.’

While she shared that her earliest memory was hanging out on a porch with her sisters in Compton.

The sports star also gave fans an insight into her likes and dislikes, revealing in the chart that she’s seen all of the Jurassic Park films, is obsessed with salty foods and wanted to be a vet when growing up.

Serena gave birth to Alexis Olympia in September 2017 in what was later revealed to be a traumatic birth which almost saw Serena lose her life.

The star was forced to have an emergency c-section to deliver her daughter Alexis Olympia after her heart rate started to plummet.

The day after the birth, Serena was experiencing a shortness of breath and scans revealed she had several blood clots in her lungs.

Cute:  And declaring her love for her baby girl, Serena also shared that little Alexis was also her ‘greatest love of her life’

She was given a drip with anti-coagulant drugs, but constant coughing from her pulmonary embolism opened up the scar from the c-section and her abdomen filled with her now-thinned blood.

Doctors saved her life by inserting a filter into a major vein to prevent any more clots from entering her lungs, and she was put on bed rest for the next six weeks.

In October of last year Serena revealed on Insta Stories that little Olympia has been signed up for tennis lessons herself.

However she was to be instructed by neither her mother nor by her aunt Venus, according to Serena’s posts at the time.

In fact Serena shared that the teacher they have chosen at that point had ‘no idea’ that her new pupil is the daughter of a world-famous athlete.

She also said she would leave the lessons immediately after dropping Olympia off so as not to be an ‘overprotective’ or ‘distracting’ influence.
