The three-time Super Bowl winner had nothing but nice things to say.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship has officially earned the seal of approval from the NFL star’s boss and Kansas City Chiefs coach, Andy Reid.
During a press conference, the 65-year-old commended the tight end’s recent plays before acknowledging that the Grammy winner may really be his good luck charm. “Kelce is getting better with time,” Reid said. “Taylor can stay around all she wants.”
Reid later expanded on his remarks, telling local Kansas City reporter Tod Palmer, “I’m just glad he’s found somebody he likes and she’s found somebody she likes. That’s a good thing.”
Not too long ago, Reid detailed the “small town vibes” of their celebrity romance, admitting that he knew Swift long before she became a global pop star and even joked that Kelce’s newfound relationship was all his doing.
“I knew her from Philadelphia; her dad was a big NFL fan, so I had met her when she was real young, and her dad,” Reid–who used to coach the Philadelphia Eagles A.K.A Swift’s childhood team–told Donovan McNabb during his appearance on The Five Spot podcast. “I joked about setting Kelce up, and, you know, I’m just saying!” Reid said, laughing with the show’s host.
Reid added, “She’s a good girl, she’s into it, we’re glad she’s here.”
While Reid is happy to have another football fan on his team, it looks like the pendulum swings both ways. The Kansas City tight end has been a longtime supporter of the “Cruel Summer” songstress–from his first failed attempt at shooting his shot with the star at one of her Eras tour concerts to following her globe-trotting touring adventures now that they’re officially together.
