Conor McGregor has seemingly reignited his feud with boxing royalty Floyd Mayweather by a tweeting a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The UFC icon was sat beside Ronaldo for the highly-anticipated ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing card in Saudi Arabia earlier in December, with a front row seat for Anthony Joshua’s win over Otto Wallin.
With two giants of the sporting world in such close proximity the cameras were never going to be far away, and as such Ronaldo posted an image of the pair issuing a caption challenge to his 616million Instagram followers.
However, McGregor could hardly resist using the picture to dig the boot in on his former rival Mayweather.
McGregor and Mayweather traded blows in a mouth-watering crossover clash back in 2017, the Irishman losing by technical knockout in the 10th round in Las Vegas.

Following the clash, reports emerged that the American had pocketed a staggering £195m ($250m) from the encounter – a figure that is still disputed to this day.
As such, McGregor took to X to send a jab in Mayweather’s direction, posting the image accompanied by the caption: ‘$250,000,000 a fight,’ followed by a number of laughing emojis.
McGregor’s future is currently uncertain, despite reports that the Irishman is set for a return to UFC with Michael Chandler’s name frequently linked with a bout.
In an interview following the main event he offered an update on his fighting future, suggesting that his next bout could see him face former eight-weight world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in the Gulf state.
McGregor also insisted that his patience with the UFC is ‘wearing thin’, noting that negotiations surrounding his return to the Octagon after more than two years of inactivity have thus far proved fruitless.
Now though the 35-year-old has been accused of waiting out for an ‘easier fight’ by UFC rival Chandler, who thinks the Irishman is trying to take the ‘smartest fight’.
Speaking to Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, Chandler said: ‘I think right now he’s trying to wait me out.

UFC star Conor McGregor has been accused of ‘trying to wait out’ for a fight with Nate Diaz by Chandler
‘I mean because if you were him, would you want to wait as long as possible for the guy like me, who’s a real fighter, who wants to be in there, who wants to compete?
‘So that I say, “Screw it, I’m gonna go fight someone else” and then he can go fight an easier fight – Nate Diaz. It looks really bad on everyone’s part if Conor comes back and doesn’t fight me.
‘Conor can try to come back and act like he runs the show and say, “I want to fight this guy, I want to fight that guy,” which if I was in his position, if I was his manager, I would be trying to do the same thing because fighting me is not the smartest fight.’
McGregor and Diaz famously had one of the greatest rivalries in UFC history following their two fights in 2016.
