Ariana Grande gathers her girl gang for another eye-catching music video for her surprise single ‘7 Rings’.
After teasing the video for weeks, Grande finally delivers the goods on her latest music video. Featuring an interpolation of ‘My Favorite Things’ from The Sound Of Music, Grande lists out all of her desires and how she buys them for herself.
“Wearing a ring but not cause I’m no mrs/Bought matching diamonds for 6 of my b__hes/I’d rather spoil all my friends with my riches.”
The singer shared a video of her friends sporting matching diamond rings back in November, leading many to speculate the inspiration for the song being more than metaphorical. This visual also features seven of Grande’s closest friends – Victoria Monet, Courtney Chipolone, Alexa Luria, Rim Taya Shawki, Tayla Parx and Njomza – all (you guessed it) wearing matching rings.
‘7 Rings’ is the third song in a successive set of singles including the previously released ‘Imagine,’ and the viral hit ‘Thank U, Next’. Grande takes the trap production off her latest album Sweetener and takes it a step further, delivering rap verses with a steady flow.
In a video that can only be described as MTV Cribs meets Barbie’s dream house, Grande serves various looks and is hosting a massive house party for all the ladies.
Similar to ‘Thank U, Next’, ‘7 Rings’ is another female empowerment bop, about financial independence and spoiling your girlfriends instead.
Grande continues her streak of visually-popping music videos helmed by director Hannah Lux Davis who’s behind the visual confection of ‘Breathin’ and the rom-com satire of ‘Thank U, Next’.
The chart-topping phenom is also scheduled to head out of tour to promote her recent album Sweetener and this latest batch of new singles, kicking off at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York on March 18.
