She sensationally quit American Idol to concentrate on her music – and Mariah Carey certainly gave a divalicious performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam festival

She is known for her diva personality and love of the midriff baring outfits.

But Mariah Carey decided to go one step further as she took to the stage at hip hop’s finest, the Hot 97 Summer Jam festival, in a cleavage baring white shirt AND tiny pair of Daisy Dukes.

Looking years younger than 43, the married mother-of-two revealed her washboard stomach in the white hot outfit – which she teamed with some towering high heels.

Demanding diva Mariah was performing her new single Beautiful featuring Miguel, taken from her 14th album (now she is making us feel old!).

The former American Idol judge looked like she had been working out like a demon as she took to the stage with legs almost as toned as an Olympic athlete – scroll down for a selection of pictures.

The crowd went wild for Mariah’s new sound (have a look at the video for the single below – warning, it’s a little racy) – her first stab at chart success since releasing Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel in 2009.

Speaking to US producer Ryan Seacrest recently she revealed why she brought singer Miguel on board.

She said: “I’m a huge fan of his music and as I think everybody’s just so blown away by him right now. We got together. He had started writing this song with just the guitar riff. He’s the truth.”

The two chart-toppers replaced arguably one of the biggest divas in showbiz, Jennifer Lopez, and a crazy-haired Steve Tyler when they took their seats on the judging panel.

And fans of the show will remember the outrageously dressed Nicki and pitch-perfect Mariah clashing like a pair of wild titans (scroll down for one of our favourite diva strops) – with the rapper branding her rival “old” and, perhaps worse, “out of touch”.

In fact, the judging panel for the next season is looking a little empty as viewers will remember veteran Randy Jackson announcing his departure earlier this month.

And by the sounds of Nicki and Mariah’s Idol bosses, it’s going to be one hell of a leaving do.

A Fox spokesman gushed about singing sensation and mother-of-two Mariah: “She is a true global icon [blimey!] one of the most accomplished artists on the planet and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the American Idol contestants this season.”

So she can expect a huge collection then.
