“You got coaches that are young, you have a new talent base at quarterback that’s young, you have wide receivers that are young, and you got all your chips in the center of the table with a 40-year-old quarterback. Welcome to the geriatric league!”

Tiki doesn’t believe it’s impossible for the Jets to win a title with Rodgers leading the way, but as C.J. Stroud, Jordan Love, Lamar Jackson, and others (every starting quarterback left in the postseason is under 30 years old) lead their teams through the playoffs, it feels like the Jets are trying to accomplish something highly improbable in the modern NFL.

“You’re like digging your own grave, and it’s not even training camp yet,” Tiki said. “Yes, Tom Brady did it…but that was Tom Brady. I guess Peyton Manning was close to it when he did it, but he was kind of just along for the ride with Denver. Take Tom Brady out. What other 40-year-old in the modern game has played this well, or an aging quarterback has played this well to win a championship?
