One Piece 1104: Egghead’s Destruction Begins

With the buster call activated, Egghead will be destroyed after One Piece 1104.

After weeks of waiting, One Piece finally returned with chapter 1104 and it is one that fans relished as Oda made sure that the Egghead Island arc kept getting better. With Bartholomew Kuma having arrived on the island, it was time for him to shine after all the years of pain and suffering that he had to endure and it is safe to say that Oda delivered on that end, with some of the most exciting twists and turns coming in the chapter later down the line.

One Piece chapter 1104 was certainly an incredible way to kick off 2024 for One Piece, and at the same time, it set up some exciting plot points which will be tackled next week in the story.

Kuma Attacks Saturn

One thing that fans were incredibly excited to see in One Piece chapter 1104 was Kuma’s attack on Saturn. Of course, there is a significant difference when it comes to strength between these two characters, and for that reason, many fans believed that Kuma would not be able to land a blow on Saturn. However, this notion was proven to be false in One Piece chapter 1104 when Kuma successfully connected his blow with Saturn’s face and sent him crashing through many buildings. In fact, Kuma’s punch was so strong that Saturn’s face was crushed and he was bleeding profusely all over.

Even one of his horns was broken by Kuma, and, as he was sent flying, one of his arms and legs were destroyed as well. This just went to show the amount of fury that was present in Kuma’s punch and the incredible damage that he did. Now, fans should also remember that this wasn’t just any regular punch. The punch that Kuma delivered was one powered by Haki, and, more importantly, it was a punch that was delivered by a member of the Buccaneer race. This race is known to have tremendous physical strength and it appears that this physical strength was brought forth in the best of ways by Oda.

Fans should also remember that the punch that Kuma delivered was one that was absolutely needed. Even if Saturn is much stronger when compared to Kuma, this is something that is narratively required for Kuma’s story to progress better. He needed some sort of closure for all the suffering that he had to endure in his life, and, for one last time, he had to be a hero again. For this reason, this punch was absolutely necessary and, thankfully, Oda delivered on that end and made sure that Kuma got to not only save his daughter, but also punch the guy who threatened her life as well as got Ginny killed. As soon as Kuma connected his punch, it was clear for the fans to see that he was no longer in any fighting condition.

He simply collapsed on his knees and hugged Bonney. A father-daughter reunion was finally given to the fans and this was one that reduced every single fan of the story to tears. After the flashback, this lovely reunion elevated both of these characters even further and gives fans hope for a happy ending for them. Now, Kuma and Bonney are going to be removed from the battle and the rest will be taken on by the Straw Hat Pirates and the other fighters on the island.

Saturn’s Incredible Regeneration Ability

One Piece chapter 1104 certainly did see Saturn get punched right in the face and sent flying. However, this was done by Oda on purpose. Oda is a master of storytelling, and Saturn receiving this grievous injury was important for two reasons. One might think that this makes Saturn look weak. However, that certainly isn’t the case. As mentioned earlier, this punch was absolutely necessary because It gave fans a feeling of satisfaction following all the horrendous abuse that Kuma had to suffer his entire life. More importantly, another big reason why this punch absolutely needed to happen was for Saturn’s ability to be displayed properly. Fans know that Saturn has an unnamed ability that allows him to turn into an Ushi Oni. He has multiple abilities up his sleeve, however, what is most curious about his powers is his incredible regeneration power.

This regeneration could not have been put on display without Saturn taking grievous injuries. Not only did Kuma break his face and horn, and send him flying, but the buildings that crashed over him destroyed a part of his arm and his leg. Yet, Saturn emerged from this unscathed somehow. His body completely regenerated within a matter of seconds and it was as if he was creating body parts out of nothing. This is far from the average Zoan recovery ability and surpasses even the regeneration of Marco the Phoenix.

The Buster Call Begins

It didn’t take Saturn long to rejoin the fight in One Piece chapter 1104, and at the same time, Kizaru finally started to move once again. At the same time, the members of the Straw Hat Pirates didn’t sit back and the moment they were freed from Saturn’s control, they decided to fight back as well. Sanji, in particular, was very impressive in the chapter as he deflected an attack from Saturn with rather ease. Similarly, Franky attacked Saturn and pierced his chest with his Radical Beam. However, he was blown away by Kizaru shortly after. Fans could also see the dilemma inside Kizaru in this chapter once again. Despite previously feeling bad for Bonney, he’s really not hesitant to attack the Straw Hat Pirates, who are aiding her. This is a proper showcase of his unclear justice and fans shouldn’t be surprised to see him waver in the upcoming chapters as well.

Realizing that they would get nowhere by holding back, Saturn decided to go for a Buster Call and raze the entire island to the ground. Now, things are looking more interesting than ever before on Egghead Island, and in the midst of utter destruction, the Straw Hat Pirates will have to battle their enemies in a very intense war. Saturn specifically highlighted three individuals that need to be wiped out. These are Dr, Vegapunk, who betrayed the government, Kuma, who is from an ancient race that needs to be eliminated, and, of course, Luffy, the person who awakened the power of an ancient God.

With that, One Piece chapter 1104 set the stage for the most exciting phase of the arc which will be tackled from next week onwards. Fans simply have to sit back and wait for this amazing war to unfold, and thankfully, there is no break next week, which means One Piece chapter 1105 is just days away. Hopefully, the upcoming chapter of the series is going to live up to the expectations and be just as good as this one.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1105, is set to be January 28, 2024.
