Qinwen Zheng has shown no signs of fear or doubt right from the point where she started her run for the Australian Open. As the tennis star kept taking opponents one after the other, she now has a spot at the R4 of the tournament. While everyone thought she would carry a strong strategy or new techniques in her mind, what she had was surprising.

Qinwen Zheng recently won her R3 match against compatriot Wang Yafan. While fans were already entertained by the action-packed match, Zheng continued the fun in her victory speech as she revealed her first karaoke track choice.

Qinwen Zheng has been adding up to the excitement of fans in Melbourne. As the tennis star recently gained a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 victory over Wang Yafan, she turned the spotlights towards. In the post-match interview, Zheng left everyone smiling with her unexpected revelation about her karaoke favorites.

 

On being exposed to a question about her go-to song, she gave a hint of her varied taste in music as she mentioned, “It depends if you’re talking about English, Chinese, or Spanish.” As the interviewer tried to dig deeper into her fondness for karaoke, she also revealed her go-to song.

“For English I really like ‘Love the way you lie’.. for Chinese it’s difficult to pick,” she said, revealing her love for the famous singer Rihanna. As the tennis world witnessed her witty conversation after the match, they now know one thing for sure, and that is Zheng’s fearless attitude in her run to the top.

Besides expressing her love for Rihanna and her music, Qinwen Zheng also turned to a conversation on the experience of the season so far. Besides carrying an aim to enter the top 10 WTA rankings this season, she enjoys every bit of the game, without stressing out on every stage.

“I want to enjoy, because after this year [2023] finally I realise when you start to enjoy tennis, when you start to enjoy what you are doing, when you are focused in the moment, on court also in life, you can performance the best of yourself,” Zheng told the Australian Open media. Now that the tennis star has locked her spot in the R4, it still remains to be seen how far she takes the expectations of the Chinese fans.
