Patrick Mahomes jabs at Bills OL Dion Dawkins on Instagram after leading the Chiefs past Buffalo in his first playoff game on the road: ‘Good luck’

Patrick Mahomes clapped back at Dion Dawkins with an Instagram post after leading the Kansas City Chiefs past the Buffalo Bills in the divisional playoffs on Sunday.

Following their 27-24 win on the road, Mahomes posted a pair of pictures on Instagram to commemorate the victory. The first photo features Mahomes celebrating while the other shows him scanning the opposition during the game.

‘Good luck,’ Mahomes captioned with an alarm clock emoji.

On January 18, Dawkins wished Mahomes luck after suggesting that he was not ready for the hostile environment that comes with his first road playoff game. Dawkins told ESPN: ‘[Mahomes has] only been here once. So, he’s never been here. Simple as that.’

‘This is the most dopest feeling I’ve ever had,’ he confidently added after describing the playoff atmosphere in Buffalo. ‘We’re having two back-to-back playoff games home. Come on now, like we get to leave and go eat wings. It’s cool. So good luck.’

Patrick Mahomes responded to Dion Dawkins’ remarks with an Instagram post on Sunday night

Before the Bills hosted Chiefs, Dawkins told Mahomes ‘good luck’ as they play on the road

Mahomes completed 17 of 23 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns in a close 27-24 win

Mahomes did not need the luck as he put on a showcase performance to secure the win. The two-time Super Bowl MVP completed 17 of 23 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

Buffalo looked to steal the game late in the fourth quarter before a field goal miss from Tyler Bass sealed the win for Kansas City. Quarterback Josh Allen led Buffalo’s losing effort by rushing for two touchdowns and passing for one.

Postgame, Mahomes mentioned how they went into the game with something to prove while praising the Bills fans for the energy they created.

‘This is a great environment,’ Mahomes said. ‘We’ve been hearing it all week man, about playing a road game. We were here to prove a point, to show that we can play anywhere.’

The Chiefs finished the regular season with an 11-6 record on top of the AFC West before defeating the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round. With the win over Buffalo, they will face the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship next Sunday.

The Chiefs and Ravens will kickoff at 3 P.M. ET while the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers will play at 6:30 for the NFC crown.
