Lizzo is never one to shy away from making a bold statement on the red carpet. The singer often favors over-the-top glamour, like when she wore a black, Old Hollywood-style feathered dress to last year’s BET Awards. It’s no surprise, then, that she continued this maximalist energy at tonight’s 65th annual Grammy Awards—a music ceremony especially known for its bold step and repeat. In doing so, she delivered the night’s most theatrical cape, custom from Dolce & Gabbana.
Hitting the carpet with her boyfriend Myke Wright by her side, Lizzo—who’s nominated for 5 Grammys this year, including Best Album—turned heads in a bright orange design. The hooded, floor-length cape was adorned with sprightly floral appliqués: a wearable garden, if you will. But underneath, the look was given some shape via a fitted, corseted floor-length gown. To really go for it, Lizzo wore an orange flower in her hair and matching tangerine makeup, of course. We’re not surprised: Lizzo always fully commits. You can always count on her to spice up the red carpet. Thank god for that!
