Cristiano Ronaldo said: “As you know, in football there are some things you cannot control. I’ve been playing football for 22 years and I’m a player who hasn’t had too many injuries. So I’m really sad because Al Nassr and I went to China to enjoy the tour. I came to China in 2003/2004 so I feel at home, my second home.
I feel like I’m always special here. I feel sad. I know you are sad too, especially those who love Cristiano Ronaldo, but we have to look at this in a positive way.
We haven’t canceled the match, we want to continue the match and come back here. We will come back. Unfortunately I had some problems, but this is part of football and my life. I’m here, I’m with the fans, I’m with the Chinese people and we will continue to be here.
We can see externally the people who are with us. We are very sad because we know this could happen. We will return to make the Chinese people happy, this is my goal. I want to play for you guys. Don’t be sad because I will be sad too and I hope you understand the situation of a player.”
Although the match will not take place on the scheduled date, Al Nassr confirmed they will complete their training and coaching tour “as planned in Shenzhen”.
