New Deadpool 3 Set Photos Of Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman & Director Shawn Levy Will Warm Your Heart

Now that Deadpool 3 has wrapped shooting, its cast and crew have taken to social media to share some heartfelt goodbyes to the film.

Now that Deadpool 3 has wrapped filming, its stars and crew have been sharing their closing thoughts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie on social media. The movie wrapped filming earlier this week, as announced by star, writer, and producer Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds’ co-star Hugh Jackman also announced the film’s wrap by posting a picture of himself shaving his iconic Wolverine facial hair. It seems as though all involved had a great time filming, which hopefully means good things for the MCU movie.

Director Shawn Levy, who is new to the franchise in Deadpool 3, shared photos on Instagram of him, Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman embracing. Levy captioned the photo, “Started with friendship. Ended with brotherhood[.]”

The post is both touching and a little bittersweet, given that it is likely the end of Fox’s original X-Men universe. Though there is speculation that Jackman could return for Avengers: Secret Wars, as of now, Deadpool 3 could be the end of the actor’s famous run as Wolverine.

Why It’s Good Deadpool 3 Is The Only MCU Release Of 2024

For years now, the MCU has seemingly been going non-stop. Since 2012, Marvel has released multiple movies every year except for 2020, due to the pandemic. Now, 2024 seems to be the year that they are taking their feet off the gas and allowing audiences a breather by only releasing one movie. With talks of superhero fatigue starting up again, it is probably good for Marvel that the one movie they are releasing this year is Deadpool 3. Deadpool and his irreverent humor seem like the perfect solution to recent criticisms of the MCU.

Aside from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there wasn’t too much excitement around Marvel’s 2023 releases, and there has been some talk of audiences souring on superheroes. Deadpool 3 can help excite audiences again, not by countering their complaints, but by voicing them. Reynolds’ Deadpool has never shied away from mocking superhero movies, not even his own. Deadpool 3‘s roasts of recent trends can signal that creatives recognize common complaints, or just offer audiences some catharsis. After some laughs at the expense of superheroes, there will be some welcome downtime before the MCU is back on track.
