Travis Kelce has donated $100,000 to the family of the two girls who were shot during Wednesday’s mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

Kelce, 34, made two separate $50,000 donations from his charity Eighty-Seven & Running to the GoFundMe page — which has been set up to assist the Reyes family and the 8-year-old and 10-year-old girls.

The family set a goal of $100,000 to assist with the medical bills the two girls have accrued in their recovery. As of Friday evening, they’ve reached $175,319.

The girls were shot in their legs and received surgery after the shooting. Both girls will attend physical therapy to build up their strength and mobility and will remain in casts for several months, reports Fox 4.

“The girls were celebrating with many members of their family when they were senselessly injured. We ask that you continue to keep the family in your prayers as the girls work to recover,” read the GoFundMe description.

“This fund will help provide vital financial support for their physical and mental recovery, any leftover funds will be saved for their college funds.” The description concluded, “All funds are being deposited into a bank account established just for the girls. Any amount is appreciated.”

Kelce’s nonprofit aims “to empower disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources and support to their communities and cultivating their talent in the areas of education, business, athletics, STEM, and the arts,” per the official website.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they’ve launched an emergency response fund in partnership with United Way of Greater Kansas City. The Chiefs, alongside the Hunt Family Foundation and the NFL, made the first donation to the fund, a total of $200,000.

“We want to give a personal thank you to the staff of Children’s Mercy Hospital and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes for their outpouring of care, love and support,” the family said in a statement acquired by Scripps News Kansas City.

After the shooting, the Children’s Mercy Hospital received a total of 12 patients. Eleven were children, and nine of them were injured by gunfire.
