Real Madrid will pay Mbappe €120-150 million in signing-on fee, want to finalise image rights agreement soon

With Kylian Mbappe confirmed to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, everything indicates that the 25-year-old is headed to Real Madrid in the summer.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been a dream target for Los Blancos for years now and the transfer saga is expected to finally come to an end in a few months with the attacking superstar donning the royal white jersey.

Even though it is being taken for granted that Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid, there are a few details of his contract that still need to be ironed out.

Mbappe’s signing-on fee revealed

Amidst the ongoing speculations, COPE has brought forth some details of the contract that Mbappe will be signing at Real Madrid.

Given that he will be joining on a free transfer, Los Blancos will offer him a hefty signing-on fee, which is expected to be worth around €120-150 million.

The amount will not be paid upfront and instead will be distributed over a period of five to six years.

As for his wages, it has been previously reported that Mbappe will pocket around €14 million net per season, along with bonuses.

The idea is that he would not necessarily break the salary structure at the club, but the image rights and bonuses part would make up for a big chunk of his total wages.

Image rights

A major topic of contention that has seemingly held up the full and final agreement between Mbappe and Real Madrid is the player’s image rights.

However, as per COPE, Los Blancos want to finalise the terms of agreement for the image rights soon and are happy to split it 70-30 in favour of the footballer, much like they were willing to do in 2022.

In the past, Real Madrid have usually gone 50-50 with players when it comes to image right agreements, but are willing to make an exception for Mbappe much like they did with Cristiano Ronaldo.
