Caleb Williams Says He’s ‘Around’ Aaron Rodgers’ Height, Weight at 2024 NFL Combine

USC quarterback Caleb Williams provided some insight into his measurables at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Williams said he is around the same size as New York Jets quarterback and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers:

Williams estimated his own height and weight at between 6’1″ and 6’2″ and between 215 and 220 pounds. NFL.com lists Rodgers at 6’2″ and 223 pounds.

The 22-year-old Williams is widely viewed as the likely No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft whether the Chicago Bears trade away quarterback Justin Fields and take him with the first pick or Chicago trades the No. 1 overall pick to another team.

After beginning his collegiate career at Oklahoma, Williams transferred to USC when head coach Lincoln Riley made the move from Oklahoma to USC prior to the 2022 season.

Williams exploded as a sophomore in 2022, completing 66.6 percent of his passes for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns and five interceptions, while also rushing for 382 yards and 10 scores en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.

Although Williams’ 2023 campaign wasn’t as good statistically, he still outperformed most other quarterbacks in the nation, completing 68.6 percent of his passing attempts for 3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns and five picks to go along with 142 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.

Williams may not necessarily possess the prototypical size that NFL teams usually look for in a quarterback, but he still has plenty of arm strength and the dual-threat ability that tends to play well at the next level.

Size was never a detriment to Rodgers, who is a 10-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro, four-time NFL MVP, one-time Super Bowl champion and one-time Super Bowl MVP. He is also ninth in NFL history in passing yards, fifth in passing touchdowns and first in quarterback rating.

Williams doesn’t have much to prove after lighting up the college football world for the past two seasons, so he will not take part in on-field drills at the combine on Saturday.

He has also declined to undergo medical testing at the combine, which is a rarity, but Williams said he will undergo testing at team visits after the combine, per NFL Network’s Nick Shook.

NFL teams will likely get an opportunity to see Williams work out on the field later this month at USC’s pro day on March 20.
