Federico Redondo has said he can’t wait to work with Inter Miami manager Tata Martino having signed for the Herons.
The Argentine youth international officially joined the MLS franchise last month after securing an $8m move from Argentinos Juniors to Inter Miami, reportedly snubbing FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Whilst Redondo himself has admitted that playing alongside Lionel Messi impacted his decision, the midfielder has now revealed that he is excited to work with another Inter Miami figure in Martino.
Federico Redondo praises Inter Miami manager Tata Martino
Speaking to the Miami Herald at his introductory press conference, Redondo revealed that he has heard great things about Martino through his father, Real Madrid legend Fernando Redondo.
Having managed the likes of Paraguay, Barcelona and Argentina, Martino’s reputation as one of the best South American managers in recent memory is easy to understand.
And for Redondo, the 21-year-old is seemingly excited to get to work with playing under Martino, with big things expected from the new signing from Argentina.
Redondo said on working with Martino: “From the moment the talks started with Inter Miami, my father told me that Tata is a great person and that helped me [make the decision].”
Tata Martino needs to get the best out of Inter Miami’s new signing
Redondo arrives in Florida with a massive reputation, with the midfielder viewed by many as a player who is already good enough to play in Europe.
Yet Inter Miami are the side who ultimately won the race for Redondo, and it is now up to Martino to get the best out his new winter signing.
Indeed, Redondo has the potential to become a superstar and one of Inter Miami’s most important players, and it’ll be up to Martino to unlock the youngster’s potential and to get him on the path to stardom in MLS.
