As adults, we often grapple with the task of planning daily meals, especially breakfast. We’re not always eager to cook complex and time-consuming meals, and prolonged standing by the stove is hardly an alluring prospect. Doing the same thing daily can be monotonous – after all, even the most delicious dish can lose its charm after a while. Luckily, some recipes allow us to create tasty meals quickly and easily.

One such dish is Turkish eggs. They are a delicious and beautifully presented alternative to classic scrambled or fried eggs. One taste, and you’ll understand why this may just become your new favorite breakfast dish!

Making Turkish Eggs

Ingredients:

  • Approximately 10.58 ounces of thick natural yogurt,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 2 cloves of garlic,
  • 2 tablespoons of butter,
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika powder,
  • A pinch of hot paprika powder,
  • A handful of parsley,
  • 2 tablespoons of apple vinegar,
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice,
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Method:

  1. To begin, prepare the sauce. Pour the yogurt into a bowl, add garlic that has been put through a press along with the lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and store the mixture in the fridge.
  2. Next, add water to a saucepan along with two tablespoons of apple vinegar. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. As the water begins to boil, stir rapidly and carefully add an egg into the whirlpool.
  3. Give it a moment till the egg white encases the yolk. After a few moments, the egg will coagulate. Safely remove it with a slotted spoon.
  4. Melt the butter and briefly fry the spices in it, finishing by adding the dill and parsley.
  5. Spread the sauce on a plate, position the eggs over it, and drizzle with herbed butter and spices. Turkish eggs are best served with fresh bread. Enjoy!
