Give her the Wimbledon Cup already!
Serena Williams has been teaching her 6-year-old daughter, Olympia, how to play tennis, and she’s already got extremely adorable pro moves. Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, dropped a video of Olympia showing off her backhand in a video posted to her Instagram, simply captioning it, “Practice makes better.”
THE TALENT!
Serena and Olympia have been practicing a ton lately thanks to spending a lot of time at home during the pandemic, and Serena spoke to People about her daughter following in her footsteps. “Honestly, we started because it’s a socially safe sport, and when Covid happened, it was like, we’re just in the house with a 3-year-old, what do we do?” she explained. “There was only one answer, to my dismay.”
Olympia had her first lesson back in October 2020, and apparently her coach had no idea she was Serena’s daughter. “I signed Olympia up for tennis lessons,” Serena said at the time. “Don’t even start with me because I’m not giving her tennis lessons, I signed her up for some. But the lady has no idea that it’s my daughter, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m not a pushy mom, but I know how I like techniques, I want to make sure she’s good at teaching Olympia some techniques.”
Can’t wait for Olympia to become a champ like her mom. Go ahead and follow her on Instagram (her parents obviously run the account) for more of her tennis-playing cuteness.
