Update Alert: Gen V Season 2 of The Boys Spinoff Promises Excitement.

Fans eager for the second season of Gen V, the well-received spinoff of The Boys, are treated to an interesting update.

According to the creator of The Boys spinoff, the young Supes at Gen V will soon be preparing for further adventures as Season 2 production gets underway.

In an interview with Arc Studio, Gen V writer Thomas Schnauz disclosed that Season 2 main filming is set to commence in Canada in the coming weeks. “They start shooting in not too long up in Canada, probably two or three weeks,” he stated. Joining Gen V during the second season’s production, Schnauz expanded his impressive resume as a writer and producer of well-known television shows, such as Better Call Saul, The X-Files, and Breaking Bad.

The comic book narrative arc “We Gotta Go Now,” which served as the inspiration for Gen V, follows students from Vought International’s Godolkin University School of Crimefighting as they compete to become members of The Seven and encounter moral challenges. Gen V Season 1 debuted on Prime Video in September of last year and was well-received, with a 97% critical rating and a 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 1 and Season 4 of The Boys were filmed simultaneously.

A month into Season 1, Prime Video renewed Gen V for a second season due to the show’s increasing popularity. But after Season 1 production concluded, Tara Butters left the program, leaving Michele Fazekas as the only showrunner for Season 2. Starring in the series are Maddie Phillips (Cate Dunlap), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Luke Riordan/Golden Boy), Lizze Broadway (Emma Meyer/Little Cricket), Chance Perdomo (Andre Anderson), and Jaz Sinclair (Marie Moreau). A large number of The Boys’ cast members made guest appearances in Season 1, while Erin Moriarty, star of Starlight, hinted at a possible Season 2 cameo.

The Boys Will Also Soon Return With a New Season

Along with Gen V Season 2, The Boys Season 4 is gearing up for its debut on Jun.13, with several teases involving Antony Starr’s Homelander as he will be the center of major story arcs, including his murder trial and support for Victoria Neuman’s campaign. Additionally, The Boys Season 5 appears to be nearing the start of production as recent listings have filming for the upcoming season beginning in April after Prime Video reportedly renewed the satirical series.

The Boys creator and Gen V co-creator, Eric Kripke, has previously revealed his five-season plan for The Boys, though he’s open to continuing the series beyond that point. He also revealed the timeline between the Gen V Season 1 finale and The Boys Season 4.
