Although Joshua has stated in the past that he is too busy to date, it looks as though he has changed his mind.
While he waits for an agreement to be reached over his next fight, Anthony Joshua intends to start dating.
After his impressive second-round knockout victory against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last month, Joshua has resumed his training. Less than five minutes into the battle, Joshua already had the Cameroonian unconscious after taking him to the ground twice.
Joshua, nevertheless, has acknowledged that he will have time to wine and dine in his free time. Joshua has kept his romantic life quiet throughout his career. This weekend, he will declare, “I’ve got some time to go on dates now and mingle a little bit,” on The Jonathan Ross Show. Joshua, however, retreated a little when asked if he had time for dating, saying, “Yeah, definitely.” To be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing. My first priority is boxing.
Models Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid are among the women Joshua has been associated to in the past. Joshua is the father of an eight-year-old kid with his ex-girlfriend Nicole Osbourne. When asked if he had a girlfriend by BBC reporter Louis Theroux the previous year, Joshua said, “No, I don’t.” When asked if he would disclose if he did, the Londoner firmly stated, “Yes, without a doubt. Imagine that when I returned home to my sweetie, she said, “You denied me!” I wish to avoid the tension.” In response to a particular question concerning Hadid and Delevigne, Joshua stated, “I haven’t been with any of those girls by the way.”
Joshua still lives with his mum and said any future wife will be marrying into his family. “I still live with my mum. In our culture, we grew up in our own family home, we support our parents,” he said. “Why am I going to move out and leave my mum by herself, for some girl? Family is the most important thing. When a girl gets with me, she ain’t just marrying me, she’s marrying my family.”
Joshua, who is a two-time heavyweight world champion, expects to return to the ring in September when he will likely face the winner of Filip Hrgovic’s proposed fight with Daniel Dubois. A world title is likely to be on the line for that bout in June, meaning Joshua could become a three-time champion by the end of the year.
