Not Feeling Myself! Nicki Minaj BLOCKS superfan after he shared an unflattering drawing of her

Nicki Minaj blocked one of her very own mega fans, or ‘Barbz’, as they call themselves, after an innocent drawing went wrong.

On May 16, Jase, from Cape Town, shared a drawing resembling a photograph taken from a cover shoot for Elle Magazine in 2013, but was left gutted by the star’s response when it came to her attention.

Jase, who said that he’s at art school, posted the photographs and artwork side-by-side for reference, saying: ‘Okay, just finished, thoughts?’

It wasn’t quite clear if he’d definitely drawn the picture himself and if so, if it was intentionally bad, but the 40-year-old rapper who recently launched her own record label, Heavy On It Records, seemingly took offence at the artistic efforts.

Soon after, Jase posted a follow-up tweet saying: ‘OMG queen it was a joke. Please unblock me @NickiMinaj.’

Nicki Minaj has allegedly blocked one of her very own mega fans, or ‘Barbz’ after they tweeted an unflattering drawing of the rapper

The 40-year-old rapper who recently launched her own record label, Heavy On It Records, didn’t express her thoughts on the art piece

The fan’s gutted response quickly went viral and racked up more than 10,000 likes.

Others flocked to the thread to share their brutally honest opinions on the controversial artwork.

One wrote, ‘Sorry, but this is funny as f***,’ one wrote, while a second added: ‘Don’t let her see this’ alongside a crying face emoji.

A third tweeter was particularly savage, and wrote, ‘I mean if I close my eyes I could see it.’

A fourth wrote, ‘You should’ve known that was coming’.

A fifth saw light in the situation saying, ‘Aye, glass half full moment. You know she saw your drawing.’

One fan shared the artist’s downhearted feelings and said, ‘Oh no I would be crying’.

The superfan’s gutted response quickly went viral and racked up over 10k likes, as well as a plethora of responses

Another joked: ‘This is so fire that it belongs in a fire’, while a fellow commenter criticised Minaj, writing, ‘She’s so insecure it’s ridiculous’.

Others thought similarly with one saying, ‘That’s sad especially if you really did draw that, that’s pretty insecure of her on her own fans yikes’.

Another person didn’t even think the drawing was that bad saying, ‘Yikes…I thought it was ok’.

One tweeter seemed to take offence from the drama saying, ‘That’s why I never ask for Nicki to follow me because I want to tweet whatever I want and I am sure a lot of things will upset her.

‘But if I decided to do a drawing of her and she was following I would have done it justice. Come on now, that was an opportunity to pay homage.’

Many fans have flocked to the tweet to share their brutally honest opinions on the controversial artwork

But the Barbz artist remains loyal to Nicki and begged fans to tweet her about unblocking his account. He wrote, ‘can y’all please tag her and ask her to unblock me’.

The Trinidadian-born rapper initially gained credit after releasing three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009. Her debut album, Pink Friday, topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, and its single ‘Super Bass’, was certified diamond by the RIAA.

Minaj knows a thing or two about selling records, with more than 100 million sold worldwide.

But the 10 times Grammy-nominated rapper has a history of being brutal to others online. In August last year, she shared her opinions on another fan’s passion project of Minaj on Twitter, with the response, ‘Babe, define ‘Passion?’ I-.’

It seems there is much to share on social media recently for Minaj as a proud mother and businesswoman.

The artist took to Instagram recently to share snaps of her two-year-old son, who she often refers to as Papa Bear on social media posts. Although she has not officially confirmed the name of her son yet.

Minaj shares her son with her husband, Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, whom she wed in 2019.

The parents have known each other since their early years and started dating in 2018.

The Super Bass singer has also been promoting the collaboration with Ice Spice and sharing the video for her latest track, ‘Ruby Red Da Sleeze’.

Minaj’s new record label venture has seen the artist team up with Ice Spice, 23, for a new remix of her track, ‘Princess Diana’, which earned Ice Spice her second top-ten hit on the Billboard chart Nicki Minaj’s twenty-second top-ten hit.

Rap artists Minaj and Spice collaborate for the first time on the single.
