Things are not going well for Billy Butcher.
The Boys season 4 is expected to be more intense and gory than ever, based on the teaser trailer. But some fans don’t seem to be aware of one character’s fate, and they’re not happy about it.
The official Boys Twitter account provided a synopsis of all the narrative details we currently know about the upcoming season, and one of these is that Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) only has six months to live.
“Butcher has 6 months to live????” replied one user. “BUTCHER HAS 6 MONTHS??? I thought he had 2 years for some reason,” said another. “wait wdym butcher has six months to live what am I forgetting,” asked another.
To refresh your recollection, at the conclusion of season 3, we discovered that V24, also known as Temp V, is a medication made by Vought that, when taken repeatedly, results in lethal tumors. In the season three finale, Butcher is given 12–18 months to live after taking six doses of the medicine. As a result, the window has been considerably reduced by the time that has passed between seasons 3 and 4.
You could be forgiven for forgetting Butcher’s fate, though, as we last saw him in the post-credits sequence of the Gen V finale (looking relatively healthy) when he finds the Woods, the Godolkin University secret laboratory where Dean Shetty had been developing a deadly, spreadable virus that targets superheroes.
