Beloved ‘Nonna’ of Ariana Grande, 98-year-old Marjorie Grande, is the oldest artist to ever appear on the Billboard Hot 100.
The singer, 30, dropped her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, in March. “Nonna” is mentioned on the last tune, Ordinary Things.
On the track’s outro, Marjorie can be heard remembering her late husband Frank, who was 90 years old when he passed away in 2014.
On Tuesday, Ariana posted a black-and-white photo of Nonna clutching a big plaque commemorating her performance that broke records on Instagram.
Honoring the singular, stunning Nonna, who has achieved historical significance by becoming the oldest person to feature on the @Billboard Hot100. Thank you and we adore you, Ariana exclaimed.

Her 13-song album ends with the ballad “Ordinary Things,” on which Nonna shares her emotions about Ariana’s late grandfather.
In the song, Nonna sings, “And when he’d come home, and I’d see him / When he first gets off that train / It was like God almighty arrived / It was like seeing daylight.”
You know, I could have packed up and moved away a million times. It’s not like we never had conflicts; you can get past that, you know? She continued.
‘It very easy, and as I told her / Never go to bed without kissin’ goodnight / it’s the worst thing to do, don’t ever, ever do it / And if you can’t, and if you don’t feel comfortable doing it / You’re in the wrong place, get out,’ Nonna said as she wrapped up her wise counsel.
Ordinary Things made a strong debut at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, cemented her legacy since the charts’ inception on August 4, 1958.
Fred Stobaugh set the previous record when “Oh Sweet Lorraine” peaked at number 96 on the Hot 100 in September 2013, but Marjorie shattered it.
Writer of the song from Green Shoe Studio and vocalist Jacob Colgan, Stobaugh was given credit.
Though Nonna’s granddaughter’s album marks her first Billboard history, this isn’t the first time Ariana’s work has featured her.
The last song on her 13-song album, “Ordinary Things,” has Nonna’s reflections on Ariana’s late grandfather, capping the entire album.
