Singer Davido inaugurated the music & arts department in UgandaFamous Nigerian singer, Davido, had a particularly honorable day inaugurating the music & arts department named after him at the University of East Africa International (UEI) in Uganda. The inauguration ceremony took place on April 15, 2024, attracting a large crowd of students, faculty and fans.
Davido expressed his excitement and pride in contributing to the development of music education in Uganda. He shared: “I always want to inspire the young generation to pursue their passion for music. This Faculty of Music & Arts will be a place to nurture new musical talents and contribute to promoting the Ugandan music grows stronger.”
The Davido Department of Music & Arts is fully equipped with modern facilities, including a recording studio, dance studio, music theory classroom and library. The department will offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in music, performing arts and music management.
The establishment of the Davido Faculty of Music & Arts marks an important step in the development of UEI. The university is committed to providing students with a high-quality educational environment and opportunities to develop their talents in the field of music & arts.
Davido’s presence in Uganda has attracted the attention of the media and fans. Many people expressed their admiration for the talented singer and his kindness. The Davido Faculty of Music & Arts is expected to become the leading music training center in Uganda and attract students from across the East African region. The Faculty will contribute to improving the quality of music education and promoting the development of Ugandan music in particular and the East African region in general.
