Last week, Keanu Reeves joined the upcoming Paramount sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 3 , voicing the dark hedgehog character Shadow, which has been given the stamp of approval by voice actor Jason Griffith

The 43-year-old voice actor spoke with TMZ about Keanu’s casting, revealing he thinks, ‘It’s a great choice

‘Shadow is now being voiced by Ted Theodore Logan, John Wick and Neo, so I think that’s pretty good company to keep,’ Griffith began.

‘I think even his natural speaking voice lends itself to Shadow so well that it’s a great choice,’ he admitted.

‘Recently, people have been speculating that I was going to play Shadow in the movie, and when personally asked, I said, “If I am, I don’t know anything about it.” No, I wasn’t asked,’ he admitted.

He added, ‘I think that’s fine, because one of the many rewards of being in this business is being asked to voice a character that’s so beloved and means so much to so many people.’

‘And then, to share that character with someone like Keanu … I mean, it’s such an honor,’ he added.

He continued, ‘Dude, if I was bitter about it, I’d be throwing 20 years of career that I have because I got to be those characters.’

‘And I really think they want to keep it fresh, they want to keep everything new, and it’s a changing of the guard, if you will,’ Griffith added.

‘Keanu, I think is just a great addition because just being Keanu, he’s going to bring in such huge numbers alone,’ he said.

He also offered some advice on how to voice this dark character for the sequel, which hits theaters December 20.
