But fans may not know the heartbreaking story behind Paris’ famed trip Down Under.

This week, Paris, 42, spoke about the devastating moment she learned her sex tape with ex Rick Salomon had been leaked to the press while she was visiting Australia to attend the Melbourne Cup with sister Nicky.

Speaking to the Call Her Daddy podcast, the American socialite described the ordeal as ‘one of the most painful experiences of her life.’

‘I was with my sister Nicky and we were in Australia and I got a call from someone on my team. And they told me that one of the entertainment shows had received a 30-second clip,’ she said of the X-rated footage.

Paris didn’t believe the caller at first, saying she ‘didn’t even remember’ filming the sex tape.

However, her world came crashing down when they sent her a clip of the explicit footage to confirm it was real.

‘I was in hysterics crying. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t even want to fly home to LA because I knew as soon as I landed, there would be so many paparazzi and reporters waiting,’ the mother-of-two recalled.

‘I kept changing my flight and staying with my sister in Australia, I didn’t know what else to do,’ she said.

While staying in Australia, Paris crossed paths with Australian Idol contestant Rob Mills at an afterparty for The Matrix Reloaded movie at the Sydney Opera House.

In a previous interview, Rob claimed he was with Paris when she watched her sex tape for the first time.

Rob made global headlines at the time when he was pictured kissing Paris on her hotel balcony the morning after they met.

‘My relationship with Paris was barely that. We spent the night together and fooled around afterwards,’ he wrote.

The pair continued their flirtation at the Melbourne Cup and spent the remainder of her two-week trip to Australia together, before Paris flew back to LA to promote her new reality show The Simple Life.
