Cardi B celebrates a few significant streaming milestones alongside indulging in some delectable Caribbean cuisine in Tuesday, May 14, Spotify’s most recent episode of Billions Club: The Series.
The rapper used her quartet of brand-new, glossy Spotify trophies as plates for a dinner of plantains, rice, and oxtails to commemorate having four tracks on the platform reach one billion plays. She talked about creating each song, beginning with her 2018 feature on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” in between meals.
In the video, she can be heard saying, “This song is the perfect song to dedicate [to] my child,” while sporting a pink bathrobe and slippers. As if I was singing this song with my kid inside of me. This song affects me a little differently when I perform it.β
Less than two months after Cardi’s duet with Maroon 5 dropped, her first kid, a girl named Kulture Kiari whom she shares with Offset together with son Wave, was born in July 2018. Not that the New York native informed the two Latin music stars beforehand of her pregnancy when they first met, but she did release “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin while she was expecting her daughter.
Cardi said that her and Megan Thee Stallion’s voices “just went perfect” together on their rendition of the “WAP” duet. She went on, “It meshed really well, like butter and f-king bread.” “It turned into such a political record, which surprised Megan and me in different ways. It’s not that strange of a song.
After their individual debuts, three of Cardi’s four Billions Club entries peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Girls Like You” holding the top spot for an incredible seven weeks in 2018. That year, “Taki Taki” peaked at number eleven on the list.
“I just wanted to express my gratitude to my followers because I may be a little harsh with myself at times. “I never feel satisfied,” the founder of Whipshots remarked.
