Angelina filed for divorce on Monday afternoon, two years after Brangelina wed at their estate in the south of France.

According to TMZ, the 52 year old actor is angered with Angelina for allegedly spinning stories to suggest he poses a risk to their six children.

The website alleges that the trigger for the divorce was a conflict over their children, anger, and substance abuse.

It claims that Brad believes the family, including the children, have become a target for paparazzi.

The publication reported that the actor said: “She’s just unleashed hell.”

However, in a statement, Brad said: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids.

“I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Angelina’s lawyer also released a statement which read: “Angelina will always do what’s in the best interest to protect her children.

“She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”

The date of the separation is listed as September 15 2016.

TMZ previously reported that Jon Voigt’s daughter asked for physical custody for the couple’s six children.

She is said to have asked the judge to give the actor visitation, rather than joint custody.

The couple have three biological children and three adopted children.

Brad met the 41 year old in 2005 during filming for Mr and Mrs Smith.

Angelina was famously cited as the reason behind Brad’s divorce from wife of five years, Jennifer Aniston.

But despite admitted that they “fell in love on set”, Angelina denied claims that the pair cheated.

“To be intimate with a married married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn’t be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife.”
