Albon and Leclerc to compete at F1 24 launch event in Monaco

Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon will take part in a special sim racing event ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix later today – streamed exclusively live from Monte Carlo on the official Formula 1 YouTube channel.

Electronic Arts’ ‘The Ten Racers’ competition will see the Ferrari and Williams stars battle it out in a virtual race around the iconic Monegasque street circuit on the new F1 24 video game, which launches on 31 May.

The pair will take on football superstars Diogo Jota and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, plus content creators WillNE, Chesnoid, Liam Kalevi, AverageF1Consumer, MaximeMXM and ElReyGuiri, with the event starting at 1900 BST (2000 CEST, 1400 ET).

The virtual race kicks off an action-packed weekend in the Principality, and will test the drivers on the latest EA SPORTS F1 game for the first time ahead of its launch later this month.

F1 24 will provide fans with the most realistic gaming experience to date with the introduction of the new EA SPORTS Dynamic Handling feature, enhancing precision control and redefining the feel of the car across both wheel and controller. The latest instalment in the series will also see a revamped ‘Career’ mode, and developments to some of the iconic circuits on the F1 calendar.

Players who pre-order* the digital-exclusive Champions Edition of F1 24 gain immediate access to a selection of new-season F1 team liveries for use in ‘Time Trial’ mode in F1 23, as well as receiving James Hunt and Juan Pablo Montoya as Icons, 18,000 Pitcoin, an F1 World Bumper Pack, up to three days of early access starting May 28, and one bonus VIP Podium Pass. Players pre-ordering the Standard Edition will receive 5,000 Pitcoin and an F1 World Starter Pack.

“Ahead of the official launch of F1 24 next week, ‘The 10 Racers’ is set to be an incredibly exciting competition between some of the best in the world of motorsports, football, and content creation,” said Collette Gangemi, Director of Gaming & Licensing at Formula 1. “This preview will give fans an early glimpse into this year’s game and kick off the racing action at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix. It’s definitely one to watch!”
