Jey Uso Expresses Appreciation For Roman Reigns, Saying “He Raised My Family” Amid Wwe Legend’s Absence

Jey Uso is part of one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE history, The Usos. The duo dominated the tag team division and won eight tag titles. However, Jey’s rise in popularity surged when he distanced himself from The Bloodline and became a singles superstar. He gave most of the credit to his cousin, the Tribal Chief himself, Roman Reigns .

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Jey Uso stated that he considered himself blessed to be able to wrestle with his cousins. He credited Roman Reigns, who elevated the tag team and made them an even better version of themselves. The 38-year-old star revealed that he would do anything for his family and intended to teach the same values to his kids.

As part of The Bloodline, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso became the longest-reigning tag team champions. However, over time, things got worse, and The Yeet Master distanced himself from the dominant faction and was drafted to Raw last year. Since then, he has become one of the most popular superstars and a perennial main eventer. One of the best moments of his career was when he defeated his brother Jimmy in a rather lackluster match at WrestleMania XL.

It’s just so crazy that you just come from the bottom like we’re cousins […] I’m so blessed that I still get to do this with my brothers and my cousins. Just to see the level where he’s at right now. And, to see how he has elevated my whole family, even though he was already here. We’re a family-oriented type, man. I want to teach that to my kids. Family first over everything Uce. It’s always family. Jey Uso via the Busted Open Radio

After failing to win the World Heavyweight Title against Damian Priest at Backlash, Jey shifted his focus to becoming a king. He cruised to the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament with hard-fought victories over Finn Balor and Ilja Dragunov. However, The Main Event came up short against the eventual king, Gunther. Fans are excited to see what the next chapter in his story will be.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL has high hopes for Jey Uso’s future

Although Jey Uso has become the top babyface on Raw, he has yet to win a singles championship in his career. Fans have expressed their disappointment with WWE for still not pulling the trigger on the 38-year-old star. WWE Hall of Famer JBL shared his honest opinion about Jey’s singles run in an interview.

While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, JBL discussed what was missing in The Yeet Master despite his popularity with fans. He admitted that Jey needed to learn how to finish important singles matches. The Hall of Famer further added that he had no doubt The Main Event would become a world champion one day.

Jey Uso is a great talent. I believe that Jey Uso is going to be a world champion. I think Jey Uso is going to be a great world champion, but it takes a while to get there to be able to finish singles matches. Especially big singles matches, Gunther has that ability and I think that was the difference in this match. JBL on Jey Uso via WWE’s The Bump [H/T: WrestleZone]

JBL also talked about Jey’s match against Gunther and why he wasn’t able to win. He compared both stars and stated that The Ring General possessed the ability to win matches on big occasions. The Hall of Famer felt that, ultimately, the new king’s experience was the deciding factor in their match.
