‘FACE,’ Jimin’s solo debut project has achieved many unprecedented records domestically and internationally This has had a lot to do with the fact that Jimin was heavily involved in every aspect of the album’s creation, including song-writing, composition, and production for each song in the album.
It is common knowledge among fans that Jimin is a genius in making music, which has resulted in everything that he touches becoming a major hit and/or gaining much attention among the masses and/or among professionals in the music industry [see more details here, here and here]. He works so hard and puts a lot of thought in his tasks to create the best quality output. Thus, it can be said that fans already anticipated that ‘FACE’ would be hugely successful despite being his first solo project.
This is why many of them were exhilarated when it was announced that Jimin would release a ‘Jimin Production Diary’, a documentary that would detail the background process of making ‘FACE’. Fans could not wait to see Jimin at work and how he came to produce what has become such a dear album to them. They had nothing but beautiful words and praises for him after watching the documentary, picking on every small detail in the process to point out how remarkable he is.
However, what became an even more hot topic after the broadcast ended is the number of viewers that were attracted to it. It is worth noting that this was paid content, which would inevitably limit the number of people who could watch it.
The broadcast showed that it had attracted 511k live viewers, which would translate to 13.7 Billion Won, USD 11 Million or 9.8 Million Euros. Fans pointed out the revenue generated from previous BTS online concerts, citing 1.3 Million, 993k and 756k viewers for 2021 MASTER SUWOZOO, MOTS ON:E, and BANGBANGCON to bring in $76.6M, $48.8M and $20M in revenue respectively.
In fact, other fans also pointed out that this number is actually much higher because there are other fans who could have paid for the broadcast but had not been able to watch it in real-time either due to busy schedules or different time zones among other reasons, and will instead watch the playback later on.Thus, it can be deducted that Jimin’s broadcast actually attracted more than half of the viewers for all BTS concerts and fans couldn’t help but marvel at his star power and massive influence.
